Urgent prayer request!!!!!!

"If you've not heard, we've had a terrible accident. Jon took Sam and Selah on a walk on the Erie Canal before lunch today. He stopped for a minute on a level surface, to check the time on his phone & the stroller rolled into the Erie Canal. Jon Clanton jumped into the canal right after them. He was able to hold the stroller up & fought against the current pulling him and the stroller down. ...He couldnt' get the kids' unhooked but was able to pull them up some and evidently got Sam's head up. Someone jumped in and took him out and Jon and another lady pulled up the stroller so they could do rescue breathing on Selah until the EMTs got there. The Erie Canal is very deep, cold, and strong currents...the sides are cement with nothing to hold to... Sam is ok, put is being kept overnight since his body temp went down to 90 degrees. At this point Selah is not expected to live...our hearts are broken. PLEASE PLEASE PRAY FOR SELAH!!! We love her so much and have loved being her parents. We are asking God for mercy! She is on life support, currently she is in a study ( the only hope they could give us) The study is to keep her temp at a certain lower than normal point with the hope that could help. But they still give us no real hope and even if she should live, they feel she won't be "Selah" anymore. Please pray that God will give us a miracle for our little girl!!!!!!!"

  45. A blog friend alerted me to your horrific situation....I tweeted and also posted the request on Facebook...I am a fellow adoptive mom of 11 several of our kids with severe special needs and although I don't know you, I cannot stop thinking of you and praying for your sweet Selah and your family.

We will trust in our Miracle-working, Mountain-moving, Awe-inspiring, Gasp-giving God who is able to do more than we can ever think or ask.

Saturday our daughter is marrying a young man who was on July 17, 2011 hit by an 87 year old man and suffered a Traumatic Brain Injury. He was not expected to live. He was in a coma for 15 days and the reports were grim.

    BUT GOD and ONLY GOD.

On Valentines Day. Karl {who was not expected to live and if he would it would not be -as they put it a *quality life*} asked our daughter to marry him and they will marry on Saturday.

All because GOD is Jehovah Rapha and He is able to heal what the doctors have no hope of healing. We contend HIS healing over Selah. Praying from Colorado {where the wedding is} ....Linny Saunders

I am from Philadelphia & visiting philly at the moment, and I heard about ur children from a friend in Philly who has a relative staying @ Ronald mcdonald house in Rochester as well. I normally live in seneca falls, ny, & previously lived in clyde, ny... Oddly 1 block from the Erie Canal. I also have several friends in Tampa & Zephyrhills, FL. The world just got a little smaller.

  116. You have given Selah love and joy she would never have known. You have made her your daughter, as God has made us His sons and daughters. Love her and hold her until she is at rest. When she awakes she will be in that golden summer without end, healed in body and soul, free to run and fly in the eternal Love you introduced her to. She has experienced more pain in her eight years than most of us will ever know in 80. She has paid her dues in this world. Her reward awaits.

Someone else has also been waiting, and I feel strongly that God wants to remind you that everything serves His purpose, and He can bring joy from tragedy. Sally.

  130. A friend found your blog for me. My found year old son passed away one week ago yesterday from a drowning accident. He also did the study or hypothermic coma as they called it here in Texas. He was in a coma for 3 days before they pronounced him brain dead. I am still in disbelief. I know your suffering and just know all of the millions of prayers and loving thoughts and messages don't change anything but somehow give a little comfort. Our son saved a little girl and all I can do is have faith that he was carrying out gods plan. We donated his organs to save other children as well. Our family sends a million prayers and you are in my thoughts at this time. It's nothing a parent should ever have to go through. Stay strong for your kiddos and hold each others hand as much as you can. God bless you and you are in our prayers. Xoxo. The Vento Family
