Change in Plans

Today we were not able to meet for our conference. Jon was sick all night but didn't wake me up. When I woke up, I took him down to the ER. He has acute reflux/acid. He was having awful burning stomach pain. It's some better now thanks to some meds. Due to his family history of heart issues & the past week, they are holding him another 6 hours to make sure all his bloodwork stays stable.

Please pray for my sweet husband. He is seldom sick & always tries to keep a stiff upper lip....With all his back issues, he never missed a day of work so he hates that this has happened.

Selah has her eyes more open than ever today which is nice but she still doesn't respond to the cornea touch ( she should jerk her head away or at least close her eyes, nor does she have the gag/cough that she needs. She has a little fever off & on still so please pray for her Thank you all again!!!!!!!!!

  1. Praying for your dear husband....I have severe stomach issues, so I know how awful they can be. I pray for his relief and strength and comfort.

Praying that God restores Selah to health, to responding to normal stimulus.

And praying for you, wishing I could do more for you. xoxo

I just want you to know that there are so many people out there praying for you guys. I shared your story with my pastor on Sunday and our entire church prayed for you guys.

God is our refuge and strength,an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging. There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells. God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day.
    PSALM 46:1-5

This Psalm has brought me comfort on many occasions. I hope it can bring you some as well. :)

  5. Just heard the song "Even If" by Kutless and thought of you! I am praying constantly for your precious daughter and your entire family! Thanks for the updates, so I can know specifically how to pray.

  6. I am Patrick Palumbo's (from ZCI) mother. I want to thank you and Jon for the love and faith you have shared with my son. Pat said Jon is the most Godly man he has ever had the pleasure of meeting. The men at ZCI are holding prayer circles all day long. We pray for God's peace in your heart, as you have encouraged Pat during his time of need. Thank you for sharing your feelings in this blog. As a mother I feel for you. Your words just make me say, thank you! May God continue to give you and the rest of your family strength. God Bless you, Emily Sprague

  7. Yvonne,
I haven't commented before, but have been praying since hearing. Our church prayed for Selah last Sunday as well.
Although our situation is somewhat different, I do understand a bit of what you are experiencing. Our daughter Maia has been home from Ukraine since December 2010. We knew that she had special needs and prepared ourselves to meet them. Then came May 2012... Maia's life and our lives changed forever when Maia developed a severe brain infection. She was not expected to survive and was hospitalized for six weeks, home for a month, and rehospitalized for another surgery. Maia has lost much of her function and is now entirely dependent upon us, no longer able to communicate any of her needs.
It has been a heartbreaking time and yet, I can still say that God has been with our family and with me. And I trust that His plan is perfect even when I can't begin to imagine what His purpose is in our situation (or yours).
So while I don't have any miracle stories of healing, I share your faith and continue to pray for you to feel our Father's peace and loving arms wrapped around you in these difficult moments. May He sustain you and help to find glimpses of His goodness and mercy.
