Saturday

Selah continues to make some movements...however we have been told they are not the kind of movements we should be seeing...it's long and detailed and confusing to explain....however we feel she is reaching out to us. PRAY specifically that her heart rate will come down (still around 150ish for the most part) pray that her blood pressure will NOT go up! She is still in danger of more brain dama
ge from that. Pray that she will have a gag reflex and that she will respond to pain correctly. She has started responding a little but in a way that leads them to believe she is only responding from her brain stem. She is swollen and has been given drugs to combat that. Today they had to remove a arterial line because there was a blood clot. This has been a long day of many ups & downs... pray for Jon & me....

Please attend church tomorrow and ask for prayer for Selah!!!!!

Sam went home to the RMH and I'll have the pictures up soon:) So thankful!!!!!

  2. I am a Denver adoptive mom, read about your family on the blog, A Place Called Simplicity. I am praying that Selah will be healed and restored to her former self, and for strength and peace and comfort for all of you in the midst of this. I will ask my church for prayer this morning…

  5. Hi Yvonne,
I just saw the story on the news! I saw Sam and couldn't believe what I was hearing. I have your family in my thoughts and hope Selah improves soon.
    I'm glad Sam is ok.

  6. Don't give up!! My daughter didn't have a gag reflex either and her blood pressures were high (found to be from spastisity in the muscles) and her heartrate was in the 200's. She couldn't handle temperatures and if she got hot, she would get a fever and cold, she would turn blue. Her body slowly and gradually started to adjust some. As for the movements, I'm assuming you are talking about posturing. My daughter did that as well. There are two kinds. One is worse than the other. But posturing doesn't mean she won't make it. Never lose hope! Just keep talking to her and telling her you love her and you have lots of people praying for her!

  11. Hi, I met you today in the family room with Patty (who served at RMH), my daughter had the open heart surgery.
My thoughts are with you and I am sharing your story with all that I can.
The longer the prayer chain the better.
Thank you for your courage and strenght, it is far reaching and your family with thrive with it and over come anything.
Thank you for sharing your story, I was really moved, and I will be following your daughters progress.
    Thank you again!
