Trusting

We got a good night of sleep last night (thank you Tylenol PM!!!) & we were able to have a good talk this morning. Jon & I are 100% on the same page and I am thankful for that. We made a commitment to the court in Ukraine to be Selah's & Sarah's parents, knowing their disabilities, knowing they would need life long care. I cried that day as we looked into the judge's eyes as we made our heartfelt commitment to love and care for them. It reminds me of the day I made a commitment to Jon in marriage, "for better for worse, for richer for poorer, in sickness & in health" When I made that commitment to Jon I had NO idea what I was really committing to...we look back now and laugh. With the girls, I had some idea, because we have other children and another handicapped child, so I knew how life would be...and we were content with that. Now life has changed dramatically BUT not our commitment!

Tomorrow we have a meeting with the doctors/social workers etc to to plan out the next steps for her. We believe she will be here for 4-6 more weeks and then we plan on taking her home. She will have a trach and a feeding tube put in. We are still praying for God's healing & mercy but we must be practical too. We have alot to learn in order to take care of her.

Please pray for her, for God to heal and for Jon & me to be able to hear what is said to tomorrow and be able to understand what needs to be done....

I want to tell you all who are reading this I do appreciate your prayers. They are holding our family up to the Throne of God. It means so very much to me. And I want to testify to you that God is a faithful God. I can say that sitting beside my comatose daughter in the PICU, with a broken heart. He is still faithful.

The thoughts that have gone through our heads today have been thoughts of eternity. Life is short and eternity is long< has been something that has gotten me through some dark days before & is a comfort to my heart. And what I mean is, in this world we will have trouble, hard times, accidents, death, heartache BUT there is coming a day when every tear will be wiped from our eyes...I am looking forward to that day! I have a hope beyond this life. It is real to me and even more so since I had Sam, knowing one day he would be whole. And now......it is more real to me than this room I sit in. So we walk on with hope in our hearts for the future here and our eternal future...please continue to pray....

  5. You've come a long way in your journey with the Lord, Yvonne. I remember one of your darkest valleys, and I see how much the Lord has drawn you closer through the years. As I weep with you in the face of this ordeal, I'm comforted by the strength I see in you. My heart is burdened for Jon, I pray you both will be sustained by supernatural peace. And I pray for a miracle. Love, Rosalie

  18. Been praying for you.

This passage of scripture came to mind as I was reading. I pray you are encouraged...

    2 Corinthians 4:7-10
We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure. This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves. We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed. We are perplexed, but not driven to despair. We are hunted down, but never abandoned by God. We get knocked down, but we are not destroyed. Through suffering, our bodies continue to share in the death of Jesus so that the life of Jesus may also be seen in our bodies.

Believing that the life of Jesus WILL be seen in you and in your sweet, sweet Selah! May God surround you with His strength and may His peace guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. There is therefore now no condemnation to him that is in Christ Jesus.

In Jesus name, Selah I curse the spirit of trauma and declare that restoration comes to you and all effects of the accident leave your life now. Brain function! Reflexes function! The blood of Jesus for you. Thank you Lord!

  21. A prayer for dear Selah. We Love your family and will be praying without ceasing. Passing along for corporate prayer that God's will be done for your family. NO WEAPON FORMED AGAINST YOU WILL STAND IN THE NAME OF JESUS!!!

    A Prayer of Healing

God of all creation, you who spoke a simple command and brought forth light from the darkness, I call upon you now to send forth your miracle-working power into every aspect of Selah's being. In the same way that you spoke unto the dust of the ground when you created humankind in your own image, I ask you to send forth your healing power into Selah's body. Send forth your word and command every cell, electrical and chemical impulse, tissue, joint, ligament, organ, gland, muscle, bone and every molecule in Selah's body to come under complete and perfect health, strength, alignment, balance and harmony.

It is through you that Selah live and move and have her being. With every breath Selah takes, She lives under your life-giving grace. I ask you to touch Selah now with the same miracle-working power that you used when you fashioned her inside her mother’s womb. As surely as you have created her in your image and likeness, you can also recreate Selah now and restore her to health.

Please fill Selah with your healing power. Cast out all that should not be inside of her. I ask you to mend all that is broken, root out every sickness and disease, open all blocked arteries and veins, restore her internal organs, rebuild Selah's damaged tissues, remove all inflammation and cleanse her of all infections, viruses and destructive forms of bacteria.

Let the warmth of your healing love flood Selah's entire being, so that her body will function the way it was created to be, whole and complete, renewed in your perfect health. I ask this through our Lord, Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

  27. You are the most amazing woman I have ever known! Jim and I were talking tonight and I mentioned to him that the Lord knew, when you standing before that judge, that Selah needed a special family to care for her. She could have remained at that orphanage, neglected but without a family to love her. But instead, two people half a world away fell in love with her and she became part of the family God intended for her. No one else, you and your family were the ones chosen because the Lord knew, only you could care and love her no matter what. What a lucky little girl. What an amazing family! You know I'm praying!

  29. The Father sees you and reminds Satan "Though you bring destruction and brokenheartedness, yet they still praise me. The victory is the Lord's. Well done good and faithful servants. Selah is a blessed little one with parents who see past the trials to eternity. Continuing to pray for all of you.

  30. Those words, "God will do something BIG in your life", could not have been more true. Janice made us aware of the accident and the message has spread and is spreading through Hope Community Church here in Holly Springs NC. Your trials and prayers have touched more of Christ's church than you may realize. Thank you for your words and strength. You are making a difference. He is using you. There is something good starting to come out of this. While I continue to pray for healing, I also pray that, using this technology, your words will continue to spread, impacting countless others in unmeasurable ways and multiplying their affect. Thank you for opening your lives at such a vulnerable and difficult time. You will remain in our prayers.

  35. Hi Yvonne

You and your family are in my thoughts. I am not sure if anyone has connected you to the group PONDS ( parents of near drowning). You may find help and support from those who have gone before.
