Update

Selah has had a good day. Everything has remained stable. Her heart rate is still higher than they'd like so please pray that it will go into normal range. She has made some small advances neurologically but we have a long way to go. We have been given hope for her survival based on the fact her body has remained healthy and her organs are functionally good. Of course they can not predict where she will be neurologically. She is making small advances, she is breathing above the rate of the respirator and her eyes are responding a tiny bit.

So please pray for Selah that she will remain stable and that she will respond to stimulus. We are NOT out of the woods yet but God is listening to our prayers and showing mercy. Thank you all for holding her up before the throne of grace....God is our refuge and strength a VERY present help in trouble! He is the only God who promises to be our help in trouble and He is with us in trouble....I know He is carrying us today!

Thank you all for everything! We feel cared for and loved by so many people who are holding us up to the Father....thank you!!!!

  6. Dear Precious Family,
We've never met, but I stumbled upon your blog yesterday and have been praying for you all and checking for updates continuously. I have two daughters and I cannot imagine the fears and heartaches you are going through right now. The Great Physician has Selah's life in His capable hands.
    Praying for peace and healing,

  8. Great report, still praying for you and your family, praying those who are ignorant will be silenced on your blog, but having blogged for over 5 years I know there are some who are hurting so badly they can only hurt others rather than help. I know you pray for them as well and I am in awe that you keep your blog open. May God protect you and bless you, may HE be glorified through all of this!

  9. Yvonne, I am keeping you and your family in my prayers. I wanted to pass on some info -- I have heard that some comatose patients respond well to music. If Selah has any favorite music, it would be a good idea to play it for her. It might help her to wake up.

    May God Bless,
    Annie

  10. Selah and your family are in our prayers. We have also requested prayer at our church. We serve a God who can heal! I know because He healed me of cancer in 2004! May God bless you all and your ministry. Christian Love, Ronda Smith in Lynchburg, VA

  12. Val used to watch my children many years ago. My husband Denny and I are watching and praying about your situation and your precious daughter Selah. Denny in particular is praying for your husband as he deals with this situation and his guilt feelings. Denny is a father who loves his boys and knows that Jon must be in deep pain right now. He is praying for the peace that passes all understanding to envelope Jon and let him know that the Father is holding him up in His mighty love. This could have happened to anyone anywhere. Any loving parent could have had this happen. God knows you love your children. All of them. He knows everything. He loves them. He loves you.

He is in control. Rest in Him.

  21. Have been praying for your precious family and especially Selah. Your story touched my heart and impacted me deeply as one month ago we had an accident in which three of our littlest children ages 2 (Selah), 4 (Justice), and 5 (Chase) rolled into our pond here in Bristol in our 15 passenger can. Myself and my two oldest daughters (we have 8 children) rescued them. I couldn't believe it when a good friend told me about you. I am also a pastor and have a daughter named Selah. Please know that I am praying for your family and if there is anything we can do please don't hesitate to let us know. We are in the area and know that you are away from your church family and friends.

  22. I am praying for your family, and especially little Selah, and her Daddy. I am so glad to have found your blog! I was looking for updates, and through Bay News 9 got a link to the Rochester paper, saw some news videos, and then saw about your blog. Thank you for keeping this up even at this difficult time. It will help others to know how to pray. We have two special needs daughters adopted 9 years ago. They are now 16 and almost 20. They are indeed special to us as yours are to you! God continue to bless you. Thank you for your words of encouragement about making every second count.
