Our first project!

Very excited to be sharing with you the first two orphans I've chosen to receive our help!  The first two pictures are of the little girl we loved so much and had looked into adopting her also.  We are so thankful she has a family coming for her....soon!  This little girl will soon know the love of a family!

And I am so happy to announce the same family will be adopting another little girl that we met and enjoyed loving on her!  L will be coming home soon too!!!!
Here I am holding Sarah with L sitting next to me.

here is L on the swing set.  Jon is pushing her.  The girl across from her V, just arrived home with her family THIS week, the little tiny girl in the swing right beside her N, came home this past fall.  And Selah is in the red swing  L seems to only have a physical problem with her legs, she is a dear and really wants a family.  I'm thrilled that the girls will be sisters1

My goal is to raise $1000 for this family by the end of May!  You can give in two ways.  First you can send a check to Grace Church 7060 Berry Road, Zephyrhills Fl 33540  attn: Orphan fund and I will send one check to Grace Haven Ministries or you can click here,
and give on Grace Haven's GIVE page.  Just please write it is for Patricia and the family will be able to use it for both girls.
Also please write in there that you are my friend and giving in honor of Selah & Sarah!  I just want to know if we meet our goal of $1000 for these girls!

Thank you for your giving...you are making a REAL difference in the lives of children, I can promise you with everything that is in me, these girls want families...they want to leave the orphanage for good.  I thank God a family has come for them.  Please understand, I held these girls, I looked in their faces, I saw the longing for love....Thank you for your gifts.  Please do not think any gift is too small, it could be the last little bit that is needed for their adoption.

Selah had a GI appointment this morning, all is well and the process to change her from Pedisure to a veggie based formula has started.  hopefully our insurances will agree that she would do better on it.  She has gained so much weight since the accident, it's not healthy for her to continue gaining at this pace.  Evidently this is not a common problem with kids with brain injuries so I'm thankful we have this "problem"  I like the new formula, it's ingredients are actually VEGETABLES!

Again today as we had to put Selah in and take her out of the car seat in the van, her nurse and I dreamed about having a wheelchair accessible van!  I did some looking around today and making some calls and emails.  I now have an idea of what we would need and how much it is...it's expensive, but I know something will work out for her.  Lord knows I don't want ot have to drive a huge van, I thought a mini van was huge the first time I drove it!  I can't imagine driving anything bigger but Selah needs that so I will do it.  I may have to park a half mile from entrances but hey we will just get our exercise!  Please continue to pray that God will make a way for us.

My brother in law Jim is here with us tonight.  He just passed the  3.5 month course to become an adult felony probation officer, including being Pepper Sprayed!  We are so proud of him and excited about this new journey of his.  He is my husband's BFF as well as brother and that is special.  He is the little brother I never had....LOL  we pick on each other alot!  In Love:)   The kids have loved hearing his stories and laughing with him.

I looked back on my pictures...and I don't have any for today!  What was I thinking to  NOT take pictures daily?  We must have just been concentrating on the girls and everyday felt like "Ground Hog Day" so that might have been a part of why we didn't take pictures daily but tomorrow I have some wonderful pictures to share of the girls and of the town.

With all the craziness in the news lately, one story got over looked.  There was a large earthquake in China, near where Shad was from.  You may remember this area was hit really hard some years ago.  this time was not as bad, but I pray for the people affected by this disaster.  Below is a picture of Shad's orphanage, don't be fooled because it is new...it was very cold, he was starving and it was rough...

Shad got picked to "deliver the ball" for the Storm vs New Orleans game next week!  he is pumped.  Steve entered him into the drawing and I got a call today.  We will get more info in the next few days but he is one excited boy!  I'm so happy for him!

UPDATE

Cephas (Maxim) and Lucia (Julia) will be leaving the orphanage tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   Pray as they travel home soon.  There will be a few days of American paperwork for visas etc...then they will start home.  It will not be an easy time physically for either of them...but they will be going home...Thank You Lord!

Adoption is a wonderful thing, I don't even have the words to express it BUT to know the children, to have seen them in their situations and NOW to know they have loving families and a home...you just do not know what that does to my heart!  It is a true picture of redemption...there are no other words for it.

The institution was started in 1966.  In all those years. there were only 4 children adopted before my girls were...in 45 years...there were only 4 other children adopted before Sarah and Selah! Since the girls' adoption, there has been 4 more....in just one year and soon there will be more!

Last December all the children were moved out of the institution and put into orphanages, the girls went to one and the boys to another.  So now the children are being adopted from other places but it is the same children we met and loved.  Children that had NO hope BUT God....and God touched hearts that said YES...we will go and bring them home!  Thank you Lord for placing the lonely in families!  Thank you that I've been privileged to be a part of it and to see it all unfold....It is a balm to my heart.....

Good night and God bless you all....please pray for Selah!
