the top one is the article and the bottom one is a video
This is a bittersweet article, it will tell you in great detail how the medical world views Selah's prognosis....it is not good. We don't know what the future holds and we understand perfectly what our doctor has said, he has been quite honest with us. But nevertheless, our trust is in God. That is the bottom line. She may never recover from where she is this very minute BUT our hope is in God..... The article did not upset us in the least, we've been told this over and over....but you can understand now what we are dealing with....
The video captures Jon singing Sam's fav song "When the Roll is called up Yonder" Very sweet....
Wow, Yvonne. The article is both beautifully and brutally written, and my heart grieves for you all over again. I read the full article and watched the full video, and also watched another video interviewing the three "rescuer" girls the day after the accident. You have been through so much! I wish I could send you hugs!

Yvonne, this article saddens me only because the doctors always give the same prognosis and it is incorrect. Yes, your daughter is probably in a vegetative state. But there is nothing that shows that she will remain there. She is young. She will progress as any child will. I'm not saying she will be healed or be the child that you once knew. But the idea that she only has 6 months or a year to show any progress for the rest of her life, is ridiculous. Every child advances. Every child makes gains. My son's near drowning was 7 years ago. He left the hospital in a vegetative state. Today, he smiles at me, laughs at me, watches TV, loves and recognizes his favorite shows and songs, loves to be read to, and interacts with his world in various ways. He cannot walk or talk or eat by mouth, but he is NOT a vegetable. Selah is not stuck in the state she is in. She will progress. How much, I do not know. But what I do know is that even if she is never fully healed, you will be. You will come to a point in your life where you will mostly let go of wishing for the old Selah and will instead become completely enamoured by the new one. God may not heal Selah in this life, but He will heal you. And He will show you ways to love and interact with her in spite of her additional disabilities. A vegetative state and complete healing are not the only options. There is a point inbetween and eventually, you will find yourself there and you will find yourself ok with it. Believe in Selah. She has potential you cannot see. But just like faith in God, it is there.
