Protocols and Paperwork

Today has been a beautiful rainy day here in Rochester.  All the arrangements are being made for Selah to be in the study.  It may be next week before she actually starts the fish oil but everyone is working as fast as they can to get all the paperwork and protocol in place for her.  She will be the first child to have fish oil for this purpose, to bring her out of a coma.  We are just thrilled & find it hard to think about anything else:)  It looks like now we will be here at least another week.

We thank you all for your heartfelt support for us and all the prayers for Selah. We have walked through this saying we were going to TRUST God and we have through the tears and pain...He is Faithful...even if things weren't going so good, He would still be Faithful! We still don't know the outcome of this ordeal, it still may not be a perfect outcome but we are TRUSTING God! He Alone is Faithful..... I'm thankful for this hope we have been given, thrilled with it actually, but please know that God is faithful even when the world gives you no hope. And I promise you that is the sweetest time, it makes no sense but when you walk through the valley, and you find you are NOT alone, there is nothing more sweeter than that assurance. Believe me, I can say that with full confidence!

So please keep Selah in your prayers, pray that all the details will be worked out quickly......

  1. We are still praying for your family. You have been away from home for so long! How is your church doing?

  3. Yvonne, have you ever considered adult stem cell therapy? I don't know a whole lot about it, but thought this article was interesting. Also not sure how much of it is true but might be worth looking into! Thinking of you and your family. My prayers are with you! http://www.donmargolis.com/Home/Blog/February-2009/Stem-Cells-Revive-Woman-in-Coma-From-Stroke.aspx

    1. Yes we looked into it in the very begining. There are some issues with it. Right now there is no placein the US doing a trial for children and there are real concerns that using another person's stem cells may not be safe. We looked at cord blood studies and they've been promising BUT you much use your own child's cord blood and of course we don't have hers. We've also looked at getting stem cells from her wisdom teeth and there maybe a study coming out in the year but right now..... Other countries do stem cell but it is very expensive and there just isn't enough proof it helps. Plus I've been to Mexico and China and I'm not sure I'd want my daughter treated there for anything!!!!

  5. Oh well. I guess I was just thinking too much. I didn't realize you had to use your own stem cells for a better chance of it working. How's everyone doing today? I don't know you all, but I think about you a lot ever since I heard about the accident. Your faith and strength through all of this has been so inspiring to me. I will keep you in my prayers and keep praying for Selah's recovery. I'm glad to hear about all of her improvements. That's exciting! God bless you all! ~April Lee
